Long Weekend Ready

0:00all right here we go good morning0:01everyone and I don't know about you we0:04were just talking about the fact that0:06what the heck it is almost Memorial0:11weekend may was like a flash i know0:15Memorial weekend's like a tiny bit early0:16this year but it feels extra extra extra0:20early and it's nestled in between all of0:23the Mayber things but I bet you have0:25some fun things on your calendar some0:27great ideas of how you're going to spend0:29your weekend and there's just some I0:32don't know like great casual easy pieces0:37that I'm so excited to mix and match and0:39kind of walk you through along with some0:42great trends that we're going to be0:43bringing in and really highlighting to0:46infuse into that wardrobe to give it a0:48little bit of edge and a whole lot of0:50freshness so we're going to start with0:51the look I have on today the weather0:53here has been crazy and it looks like0:55it's been that way across the country0:57unpredictable hot one day cool the next0:59and so I'm looking for easy layers that1:01I can mix and match including this1:04amazing splendid sweatshirt why I love1:06this really really lightwing almost like1:10a terry knit it's relaxed and oversized1:13i'm wearing an extra small this feels1:15like something I would throw on over a1:16swimsuit on a warmer day pair it back to1:20a great pair of cuto offs on a cooler1:22day just like I'm wearing now what I1:25think gives this outfit some edge and a1:26little bit of unexpected twist is1:28pairing it back to black instead of the1:31expected blue this is the Kaye denim1:34short from Pistol it is my favorite new1:38silhouette and shorts a longer short is1:41where it's at this season no doubt i'm1:43wearing my true size in this one it has1:45a great easy leg opening my number one1:49requirement for any shorts I put on this1:52bod and even as a petite I don't feel1:54like these are too long i love the wash1:56down gray of course I'm adding a fun1:58little belt and then a woven shoe i got2:01to show you i don't think I can take it2:03off because I don't think I'll ever be2:05able to get it back on but really really2:06fun woven Mary Jane here this is a nice2:09alternative to your fully covered up2:12shoe i love a shoe like this for work as2:15well as for play and that little bit of2:18texture gives this whole outfit2:20something unexpected now if I'm looking2:23for another great layer in this2:25department I might go for an open weave2:29sweater so couple really fun options2:32here the first is another amazing option2:36from Splendid how cute is this now this2:39is almost a gray blue so if you're2:41looking for something that feels kind of2:44Memorial Weekend but not so on the nose2:46this is a sweater for you this great2:49open knit this Johnny collar more of2:51that polo kind of style and again a more2:55relaxed fit this is a total home run and2:58would be also so cute back to these gray3:01shorts little bit more are so so3:25hot right now and they're great even3:27when the weather is warm because they're3:29really lightweight this is from Zupp it3:31comes in two great colors i love this3:34really really beautiful ceron blue3:37bright bright bright with that great3:39slush of white but if you want to go3:41more neutral this is a really fun option3:43in this really light cream back to a3:46white stripe both are meant to be a3:48little bit relaxed and fit both would3:50look great back to black and a fun fun3:54combination3:56and if the weather is really turning up3:58and you want to pop on an unexpected4:01layer or treat this just as a top this4:04crochet open weave sweater from Evereve4:09is absolutely one of my faves gang how4:13darn cute is this little bit of a hood4:16here this lace up detail in the front is4:19chef's kiss so on trend so so right now4:23what's so cute about this wear it over a4:26cami really really lightweight pop it on4:28over a tea so darn cute if you haven't4:32snagged that Harrison tea yet you need4:35to get it it is a great layering tea i4:38love it under pieces like this because4:40it's a slimmer fit doesn't interrap the4:43lines this is meant to be a little bit4:45more oversized and boxy super super fun4:48piece love this one4:51okay let's pivot and think about4:54alternatives so great little open weave4:56sweaters i love this kind of snitty4:59sweatshirt that's so cute one of my5:01favorite pieces though when I start to5:03think about those great lightweight tops5:07that I want to wear this time of year5:08and especially for a fun Memorial5:10weekend get together again when that5:12weather might be a little bit5:14unpredictable or when you are trying to5:16just cover yourself up just a tiny bit5:18from the sun that we know is just coming5:20down hard that's when I grab a really5:24lightweave woven button-down so probably5:27one of my hands-down favorites and I5:29know it's yours too because we sell out5:31of this every time we get it in is from5:33Zupplies so this is a Saturday strip5:36shirt now great classic red and white5:39stripe a linen you guys so it's so5:43lightweight i like it because it's a5:45little oversized a little bit relaxed5:47but it also comes in this super fun pink5:50and orange combination does this not5:52just scream summer you can really5:56celebrate Memorial Day go to those5:58picnics go to those get togethers5:59without having to be so on the nose i6:02think this is a really fun just summer6:04nod and it's a great little piece i6:07always pack this when I go on my spring6:08break like a couple months back and I6:11treat this almost as a cover up and then6:13I know that I can wear it also with a6:15great pair of white denim or with my cut6:17offs out to dinner or for a casual like6:20run for brunch easy easy piece to grab6:23and a total workhorse in the closet6:28if you're looking for something with a6:29little bit more shape so you're like "Oh6:31I really like the idea of a lighter6:33weight top but I want something that is6:35just a little bit of a slimmer fit or a6:38little bit less coverage." Gang this is6:40like the Splendid Live right we're6:41talking about so many great pieces from6:42Splendid but this is another really6:44great one you're going to notice a lot6:46of this like pop over silhouette we saw6:48it in that great sweater we see it here6:51in my sweatshirt and then going to get6:53it here in this great little woven top6:56i'm going to bring it in so you can see6:58the detail on this one so so fun what I7:00really like about this is it's not a7:02full length sleeve and that banded arm7:05means you can just push it up right7:07above your elbow for a little bit of7:09volume this is a no tuck no fuss no mus7:12and the detail in this one is so darn7:14cute a blue and white stripe you cannot7:17go wrong with this one really really fun7:20and again I think like the gravitated7:22idea for sure for this one is a pair it7:24back to blue denim which I love i'm7:27really digging how this gives it some7:29interest paired black back to black7:32instead so fun question yes do do you7:36need to wear a tank or anything under7:38the7:39open sweaters so okay i would in these I7:44don't think you have to i just go with a7:46nude coverage bra so skin tone bra7:49underneath this one yes definitely you7:52do much much more openly the splendid7:56where the stripe hits and7:58congratulations on splendid for figuring8:00this out where the stripe hits it's8:01going to give you some good coverage so8:03this would be another one that I would8:04say wear a cami if you want but I also8:06think you could go nude bra on this one8:08and be totally fine i don't know and8:10these over sweaters I tend to like a8:12layer underneath because sometimes I'm8:14usually throwing those on because maybe8:16it's cool in the morning hot in the8:18afternoon but I'm not going to be coming8:20home so I wear a little tank underneath8:22so I can always just take it off throw8:23it over my shoulders and be done easy8:25way to do it and another question yeah I8:27love these questions great keep coming8:29what's just a general what would you8:31recommend for grad parties okay so a8:34question what would I recommend for grad8:36parties well my experience they are8:39typically often outside right or in a8:43big kind8:44of room that can get really really warm8:49because it's all the people and all the8:50hugging and all the talking and all the8:52celebrating so I'm looking for something8:54that is easy breezy comfortable but8:56still makes it look like I am put8:57together the best thing I can think of9:00is a oneandone dress so two really fun9:04dresses that I would suggest the first9:06is from Michael Stars i adore this dress9:10it is so darn cute gang look at all the9:12color in this so fun now why I like this9:15is because it's that just classic a-ine9:18silhouette it is great for a hot9:21backyard it's also great for a9:22graduation if you are sitting in the sun9:25this is one of those I don't want9:26anything touching my body but I still9:28want to look put together dresses that9:30open V-neck really helps to flat like9:33flatter the neckline i also love the9:36seaming detail here the tearing is9:38really intentional here to actually give9:40you more of a waist i think sometimes9:42these tears drop down this one's coming9:44a little higher gives you some really9:46nice shape and the actual fabric is so9:49nice on this one i just love love love9:52this now if you're looking for something9:54that maybe is one step up I think one of9:57the easiest ways to do that is go a9:59little bit longer but still feel nice10:00and cool this is a total stunner from10:04Farad light as air but here's what makes10:07this dress so amazing all this roo10:10rushing and gathering around the waist10:12so flattering bra friendly has pockets10:15and a little bit longer so feels just a10:18touch more dressed up so great you guys10:21such a good question there's so many10:22graduations happening right now so so10:25many if you need just to throw it out10:27there if you need a great layer over a10:30dress again it might be one of those10:32maybe you're hosting and the party10:34starts early afternoon it's going to be10:36really warm but you know that friends10:37and family are going to stay later into10:39the evening and you're going to want to10:41layer it to go over this cut jacket is10:44one of my absolute favorites in white i10:48think it's so fresh what makes this10:50really a step up from that denim jacket10:52is the short sleeve the bright white10:55there's good stretch in this one and10:58such a flattering silhouette so not so11:02long too so it's going to hit you right11:04at that waistline and really give you11:06some shape over a dress it would work on11:08either of the dresses that I showed11:10really fun one such good questions11:13another really easy look though I would11:15say for a more casual grad party is a11:18great pair of a little bit more polished11:20denim and a fun top so grab this one11:24because this is also great for Memorial11:26Weekend but I love love love the idea of11:29wearing this for a grad party as well11:31check out the detail on this one gang11:33get citizens so darn cute throw on a12:25little flat or if you want to add a pop12:27of color are we dying over these i mean12:30come on how cute is this so kind of like12:32the shoe I have on but done in a red12:34mesh i love love love these from Dolce12:36Vita that would be such a fun little12:38finish don't need a belt because you've12:40got that drawstring and you're good to12:42go and this jean is really great because12:44it's got so much movement and so much12:47ease really really fun like another fun12:50pairing back to this again for Memorial12:52Weekend but also could be great for a12:54casual grad party would be this more12:56swing top this has a little bit of a nod12:58to that rugby silhouette this is also13:01from Evereve and a really nice one to13:03pair back to something with that13:04drawstring waist because you don't have13:06to worry about tucking it in so darn13:08cute right love love love that13:11one okay I know that a lot of Memorial13:15weekends also involve baseball games and13:18lacrosse games and soccer games and13:21you're sitting on the sidelines and you13:22might be cooking a little bit but maybe13:23you're getting together with the team13:25after for a little celebration so you13:28need something easy to throw on that13:31kind of feels you know in the spirit so13:33my first inclination is to grab this13:35great railroad stripe short i love this13:37one because railroad stripe number one13:40such a thing right now this is from13:42Sanctuary little bit shorter silhouette13:44to show off those gams treat this just13:47like a denim so even though it's a13:49stripe it really acts like a neutral you13:51can pair it with a lot of different13:53things i'm kind of a sucker for this13:55short sleeve sweatshirt i think this is13:58a fun combination really really cool now14:02no belt loops on this one so you don't14:04have to worry about a belt it feels14:05really finished and polished but here is14:07where I add the scratch aside from14:09mixing that pattern it's when you pop in14:12an unexpected shoe now this would be14:14super easy to pair back to a Burke i'm14:16telling you right now this Mary Jane is14:18just as comfortable and would be a14:20really fun combination or throw on your14:24cute little West Coast hat i mean14:25darling right feels like a nod to14:27Memorial Weekend but not too over the14:31top another way in of course is a great14:34t-shirt dress so another Evereve winner14:37here this is based on that great Nora14:40tank done in a dress now one of the ways14:44that I think really adds some freshness14:46to a knit dress and gang this is like a14:49baseball tournament soccer tournament14:51lacrosse tournament dress whenever I see14:53a dress like this that is even remotely14:56in my teen color I snag it because I14:59know this is something I'm going to want15:00to wear and be comfortable in for a15:0212hour day but how do we make it look15:06fresh and cute uh bandana is the way to15:09go there's lots of ways to style this15:11and tie this the easiest way I think is15:13this great I'm just going to pop it on15:15over because look at that great little15:17kind of western tie you can also do it15:22more as a twist around your neck cute15:26little knot15:30here i can't see it in the mirror so15:33you're I'm going to have to hope that15:34everybody thinks this looks okay because15:36I can't tell but really really easy way15:38to do that there or one of the ways that15:41I really think is15:43fun actually can be in the hair which is15:46cute so you do the same thing you did15:48with your more western look right so15:51you've got your bandana coming down to a15:53point couple ways to do this you can15:56either tie it like fully in the front15:59this is a real challenge when I don't16:00have a mirror so you can either tie it16:02in the front oh look there we go Brit16:04thank you so tie it in the front like16:05this cute little head cover up or if you16:08have a long pony you do the same thing16:11you did with that like long neck tie and16:13tie it in your ponytail so cute so lots16:17and lots of ways to style this look16:20total team player here just got a little16:22mirror from the phone to help me with16:24that but I love a good bandana i think16:26it does really really fun things for a16:27look and if you have a long one you16:30could also wear it as a belt which is16:31kind of an unexpected way to style it16:34okay last but not least just when I'm16:36thinking about those long turny weekends16:39a cute little set is a really great way16:41to go and the best thing we all know16:43about sets is all the mixing and16:45matching so this is from Spanx i love16:48love love this guy it's almost more of a16:51again that kind of terry silhouette gang16:54so not such a like heavier weight cotton16:58you've got a little bit more16:59breathability here i mean how darn cute17:02is this done in a skirt but hello thank17:05you for this for all of you that are17:07running around after all the kiddos it17:10has a built-in short underneath so comfy17:13so17:14cute my team's colors are navy and white17:18so I am for sure going to snag this one17:19up but I love love love this and then17:21pop on a white t-shirt underneath a17:22sweatshirt so you can swap it out or17:24even just your great little tank17:27underneath would be easy too if the17:29weather's getting really warm fun one to17:32pop on i am so going to17:35sneeze i'm looking at a light there we17:38go it went away i love it when that17:39works okay so talked about
